At EIA, we are committed to providing our students with the best possible education and opportunities for their future careers. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our recent collaboration with the Australian Information Security Association (AISA), a partnership that promises EIA students significant perks within the cybersecurity industry.

AISA, the Australian Information Security Association, is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to raising awareness for the risks and dangers of cyberthreats in Australia, at the same time leveraging human resources for the cybersecurity industry. AISA provides networking opportunities, professional development resources, and industry insights to support individuals and organisations in enhancing their cybersecurity capabilities.

Also catering to the needs of the sector, EIA’s Bachelor of IT (ICT Security) program was designed according to current demands for cyber safety workers, providing students with not only the practicality of ICT but also critical thinking and problem-solving skills that prepares them for real-life cyber threats. In the final year capstone project which captures students’ development through the 3 years of study, EIA works closely with industry partners such as AISA to provide guidance to students and help them reach their full potential.

Having achieved partnership, EIA and AISA have outlined a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing cybersecurity education and fostering a strong connection between academia and industry. Here’s a glimpse into what this collaboration means for EIA students:

Empowering Students with Industry Insights

One of the key benefits for EIA students is access to invaluable industry insights and resources provided by AISA. Through content regarding the cybersecurity market in Australia, our students will gain a deeper understanding of industry trends, challenges, and career opportunities. This exposure to real-world insights will enrich their learning experience and better prepare them for the workforce.

Networking and Community Engagement

Our collaboration with AISA opens doors to networking opportunities and community engagement initiatives for EIA students. They will have the chance to attend AISA community events, interact with industry professionals, and even volunteer at prestigious events like the Australian Cyber Conference. These experiences not only build valuable connections but also provide a platform for students to showcase their skills and passion for cybersecurity.

Australian Cyber Conference

Support for Career Development

AISA’s commitment to providing free student membership and discounted registrations for events like the Australian Cyber Conference contributes significant leverage for the future career pathway of EIA students. Not only will they be exposed to wealth of career resources, but they will also be kept informed of the latest networking opportunities – including the chance to converse with industry professionals.

The collaboration between EIA and AISA is a milestone that opens up a world of opportunities for our students and reinforces EIA’s commitment to cybersecurity education. Together, we take a step further to empower the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and contribute to the advancement of the industry.
